Guide · quick video messages
How do you record a video thank-you for a customer in under a minute?
Pick a short script, change the name and one detail, and read it to your phone’s camera with Que’d. The words sit right under the lens, one phrase at a time, so you look at your customer instead of down at a script. Save the take and send it by email or text. Twenty to forty seconds is enough.
Why does a short video thank-you work better than an email?
Because the customer sees your face and hears their own name. An order confirmation proves the system worked; a 30-second video from a person proves someone noticed. It also takes less time to record than a careful email takes to write, once the words are in front of you.
How do you record one with Que’d?
- Step 1
Pick “Thank a customer”
Change the name, the product and one detail that only this order has. Keep it to two or three short paragraphs.
- Step 2
Read it under the lens
One phrase at a time sits at the top of the screen, right under your camera, and lights up at your pace. Slashes mark where to take a beat.
- Step 3
Save and send
Record the take, watch it back, save it to your phone and send it the way you normally reach that customer: email, text or a reply to their order.
What should a thank-you video say? Three scripts to start from
Open with their name, thank them for one specific thing, give them one useful next step, and stop. Under 40 seconds is plenty. The marks tell you where to pause (/ a beat, // a breath) and what to lean on (**stress**).
[smile] Hi Priya, / it’s Sam from Northtrail. // I saw your first order come through, / and I wanted to say **thank you** in person. [down] If anything doesn’t fit just right, / reply to this and I’ll sort it out. // Enjoy the trails. [down]
[warm] Marcus, / this is your **third** order this year, / and I didn’t want it to go by without a proper thank-you. [down] People like you are why we keep doing this. // See you on the next one. [down]
[look] Hi Jordan, / thanks for coming in today. [down] Your new parts are installed, / and the warranty runs for **twelve months**. // If anything feels off, / just reply and we’ll book you back in. [down]
Five tips for a thank-you that sounds like you
- Say their name first. It’s the line they’ll remember.
- Mention one real detail: the product, the date, what they asked about.
- Keep it to 20 to 40 seconds, about 50 to 100 words at a natural pace.
- End with one next step, like replying, a guarantee or a care tip. Not a sales pitch.
- Hold the phone at eye level. With the words under the lens, you look at them, not down at a script.
Questions
How long should a video thank-you message be?
Between 20 and 40 seconds. At a natural speaking pace of about 150 words a minute, that is 50 to 100 words: a greeting with their name, one specific thank-you, one next step and a sign-off.
Do I need to download an app to record one?
No. Que’d runs in your browser, so there’s nothing to install, and we test it on iPhone first. You can try it at qued.ca/try with no sign-up, record a take, and save it to your device.
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. The take stays in your device’s memory until you save it to your own files or share it. Que’d never uploads your video.
Should I script a thank-you video or improvise it?
Use a short script. A few lines keep it under 40 seconds and make sure you say their name and the one detail that matters. Reading them one phrase at a time under the lens keeps it sounding natural rather than read.
Read it once. Look up. Send it.
No sign-up to try. Your words sit right under the lens, and the take stays on your device.
